How to style shirts?

Ive got a lot of oversized t shirts in my closet because i thought it would hide my belly a bit better but i feel like it makes me look way bigger. Is there anyway i can style these without having to buy an entire new wardrobe? Any tips for jeans or leggings would be nice. I dont wear dresses or skirts.

Also any tips on what shirts i should be looking for. Im very self conscious on how my belly looks so i try to "hide" it

Iโ€™m an apple shape and always want to try and hide my belly in outfits too. I have been wearing oversized shirts unsymmetrically tucked into jeans - so one side is tucked at the front and the other side of the shirt hangs at the front - this creates length and covers the belly. Then create some volume with the shirt side thatโ€™s tucked to disguise your belly under the fabric. I also would wear high waisted jeans for this as it makes it loads easier to tuck!

Roll the sleeves up like @jdseries here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CVAvQm0lq4y/

Then strategically tuck your shirts into high waisted shapewear panties and pair them with a skirt. ๐Ÿค—

I'm also obsessed with Maggie McGill's style. she wears oversized shirts like a 'shacket' and has a crop top underneath with high waisted jeans.

If you don't like crop tops, you could swap it for a tank top.

Me again haha. I also like how Elisabeth Hartmann wears her shirts. Just tied round the waist (this hides your belly and can create a waist) and wears a bagg tshirt tucked into jeans as the main look.

Here's an example:

go for check print shirts. I actually love the oversized look, but we're so used to be told to shrink ourselves it can feel strange wearing such big items.

Some of the tips here are great. Make sure you balance out your look by wearing more fitted styles for pants, like leggings or straight leg jeans. Oversized shirts + wide leg pants will make your silhouette look bigger.

I love the oversized shirt as a dress look! I know you said you don't wear dresses but it does look so good with knee high boots.

it's all in the tucking! You can waist high waisted pants, tuck the oversized tshirt loosely and cover your belly area. It's actually a really cute look!

I just re-read that you said tshirts not shirts! I saw everyone elses comments and got caught up on shirt game.

I think the same tips work though.. balance out your tshirt with fitted pants and go for high waisted jeans styles. Straight leg or mom jeans are kinda trendy now, but skinny jeans also work if you prefer them for a fit!

Reconsider dresses as a one and done look with an amazing boot- like a cowboy boot.

A dress can give you that amazing monochromatic look that elogates the body. And it can be fun.
